ZTE said on August 28, 2012 that the company plans to double Smartphone and tablet shipments in 2012 in order to tap growing global demand, according to a report by Reuters. The company said that it aims to ship approximately 40 million units of Smartphones this year, up from 15 million in 2011. ZTE projects to sell one million tablets this year, this target is two times more than the record achieved in 2011. It is reported that ZTE's Smartphones score good sales performance in some mature markets such as Japan, Europe, Australia, and the United States as well as in some emerging markets.
